I am an Integrative Therapist with a person centred core, meaning I am able to draw upon different types of counselling to suit my client’s individual needs whilst keeping the relationship between myself and my client at the very heart of my practice.
I wholeheartedly believe in empowering clients to seek out the answers and truths they need and are ready for, to overcome challenges faced and find the courage to work through pain; sometimes pain you may have been holding for many years.
When given a safe and supportive environment I believe that we all have the strength and resources we need within us, and my aim and commitment to my clients is to facilitate this journey by promoting a warm, non-judgemental and non threatening space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in safety.
I have experience of counselling both adults and young people (from 12 years old) and have worked with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem and identity, self-harm, abuse and bereavement.
I am a student Counsellor. Having achieved my levels 2 and 3 in Counselling, I am currently working towards my Diploma Level 4. I am also working towards my Certificate in Counselling Young People and am starting my Level 5 in January 2020. I work from a Humanistic Approach, which means I believe you are the expert of you. Sometimes we each need a safe place, free from judgement to explore thoughts or feelings that are going on for us right now. You as the client direct the conversation and the flow, you are in the driver seat, I am a passenger alongside you, to guide you on the journey.
I have worked with adults and young people aged 11+, I have experience of working in a school setting. I am fully insured, and I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy)
I like to work with openness and honesty to develop a true and trusting relationship, I believe this will enable you to be honest and open with me about your life so we can explore it together.
